日本に起業家が少ない理由

多くの国では、「好きなことだけをやって生きていけたらすばらしい！」というのが一般的な感覚です。ところが日本には、「やりたいことだけをやる」生き方を「わがまま」とか「不道徳なこと」とネガティブにとらえる社会通念があるのです。そして「人間は我慢が大事」とか、「好きなことしかやらないような奴は、人間ができてない」とさえ言われます。

こんな考えがあるかぎり、日本がシリコンバレーみたいになることはありえないでしょう。「嫌なことでも我慢すること」が「社会的に優れた資質」と見なされるような社会では、「自由に好きなことを追求しよう！」「くだらないことに耐え忍ぶのは人生の無駄だ！」という価値観を持つ人はアウトローであり、時には反逆者扱いされてしまうのですから。
